Tree Rescue Extravaganza II

October 3 - November 1, 2026

COMING SOON! Tree rescue events will take place all around the county during the four weekends of October (and a few on weekdays as well.) Come try your hand at clipping the invasive vines that are killing our trees while learning how to spot the native vines that should be spared. No experience necessary!

What to Know Before You Go

What to Wear: Long-sleeved shirts and long pants to protect against thorns, sturdy shoes, a hat.

What to Bring: Water. See instructions for each event about tools. If you have them, bring clippers, loppers, and/or small saws. If you don’t, most event leaders will have some extra tools you can borrow.

Sign Up: Please use the registration form or link on the calendar to let the event leaders know you are coming. Children must be over age 11 to actively participate.

    Make Southside Park more ecologically diverse by removing invasive plants and caging native tree seedlings. This activity takes place every Monday. Gloves and loppers provided. Bathrooms and parking onsite. Kids welcome. Meet in the parking lot at the entrance off the intersection of Ware St SW and Walker St SW

    Meet/park in the cul-de-sac near 11940 Goodwood Drive, Fairfax, VA.

    Description:

    The location is Brentwood Farm Park - we will be working in the area in the blue box. Park in the cul-de-sac (see green circle) nearest address is 11941 Goodwood Drive, then once parked, walk along the trail to the grassy area. You will pass a small kids playground.
